Blanco Hall

Blanco Hall, a new Main Campus residence hall, will expand the university’s housing options for first-year students and sophomores.

Situated on the northwest corner of the Main Campus, Blanco Hall will span 155,510 square feet at the intersection of Barshop Blvd. and Tobin Ave. With a mix of single- and double-bed units, the new residence hall will accommodate 594 undergraduate students.

Overview

Blanco Hall will be a living-learning community that features educational resources, including a dietetics kitchen. Supporting a program in dietetics, the kitchen will serve as a shared nutrition, research and practice laboratory. The kitchen will utilize a multipurpose room as an education and training center to engage students in meaningful research related to chronic disease prevention, in addition to providing cooking classes.

The residence hall will also feature common spaces for study and community-building activities. Students will benefit from the proximity to dining options, existing residence communities and campus resources that enable them to develop personally and professionally.
